ISSI
ISSI is a collaboration of two transition networks: Plan C and DuWoBo. ISSI stands for 'Innovation System for System Innovation'. The Transition towards a sustainable society requires the collaboration of governments, businesses, research institutions and civil society. Multi-stakeholder-networks often focus on a specific “system” (eg. food, infrastructure, materials, energy, mobility…). The many sustainable challenges we face, require cross-system action and collaboration. With ISSI, Plan C and DuWoBo have asked i-propeller to develop an ambitious project with three basic requirements:
- A common methodology to co-manage innovative experiment.
- A toolkit for the joint generation and management of networks (people) and ideas.
- To initiate new experiments through a open innovation trajectory.
The method and toolkit were developed by i-propeller building on “in the field” realizations from DuWoBo, Plan C and other innovation networks. The methodology and toolkit on setting up structural, action oriented, cross-network collaboration for sustainable system innovation will be open for others to join – share – do – learn. By the end of 2011 the first results of the unique scale of this project will be presented.
