Nele Verbruggen

Nele Verbruggen is project manager at i-propeller.

Nele has over 10 years experience working on civil society advocacy and developing international networks.

Prior to joining i-propeller, Nele has been managing an international NGO and has acted as project manager at King Baudouin Foundation (KBF). She has been serving brief research assignments in between.

A vivid example of her work on creating international civil society networks focusing on the unmet demands generated by new societal trends, is PICUM, Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants. As its coordinator Nele carried the network from the initiation phase to the point where the network united over 250 members from 17 countries. Also in the philanthropic world she has been instrumental in facilitating learning networks of both foundations and civil society organisations, nationally and internationally.

Nele has a degree in Comparative Studies of Cultures from the University of Ghent and in International Relations from the University of Antwerp, and is fluent in French, Flemish and English.
