Jan Lamers
Jan Lamers was from 1982 to 2002 CEO of Uitgeversbedrijf TIJD NV, publisher of Belgium's leading business daily, De TIJD, based in Antwerp. Previously he was economic advisor to the Flemish Prime Minister and the Flemish Employers Organisation (VEV).
He currently works as part time business manager of an antroposophic house for the elderly, CEO of Wereldmediahuis vzw, a 125.000 circulation monthly owned by the leading NGO's and focusing on globalisation and sustainability and is CEO of media consultants LAMERS-MEDIA C&P. Jan is currently 2006 Chairman of Free music vzw, promoting improvisational music, of Cultuurnet Vlaanderen, a website to promote artistic activity in Flanders, a board member of MUHKA, the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp and a director of Triodos Bank.
Previously, he has been president of the Belgian Association of Newspapers, Vice-President of the European Newspaper Publishers Association, a board member of the International Newspaper Marketing Association, President of the Centre for Image Culture in Antwerp and Board member of UAMS, the University of Antwerp Business School.
